Health tips alone will not break a cycle that therapy can.

Depression can be treated, but the symptoms can be difficult to identify on your own especially when you’re in a state of depression, it can make it hard to get out of bed or to stay awake during your normal daily routine. You may search on the internet and get all sorts of wacky results with that kind of symptom. There are many other symptoms, and you may experience just one or a combination of them. In any case, the point of teletherapy, is to root cause the issue so that the symptoms quickly disappear.

This is partly why we conduct an intake session. You give us the starting point of the symptoms that you are experiencing. You may be aware of the contributing factors or not. Either way, it is a starting point so that we can setup goals and get you back on track by finding the root cause and then addressing it. It sounds pretty simple, and it really is. The challenge is to use the various methods to figure out what works for the client. Everyone is different and we each have our own comfort levels when dealing with challenges. Some people use avoidance while others want to face it head on and can be quite confrontational. So, as you can see, there is a wide spectrum and there are many ways to come to a resolution when working with a professional therapist. The key is to figure out what works for the client so that they are comfortable enough to employ the tool when the challenge arises. It isn’t magic. They now address the issue at the heart and move past it quickly so that they don’t experience the symptoms of depression.
